The Office of Public School Monitoring Vision:

Equitable outcomes for all students

Mission:

We serve students by conducting data analyses and reviews of special education and civil rights policies, procedures, and practices in order to support district efforts to build equitable and inclusive educational systems that meet the diverse needs of all students.

Support and expand districts' efforts to eliminate bias, racism, and barriers to equal access

  • Analyze all relevant data through an equity lens to identify areas of growth.
  • Engage in data-driven discussions with district administrators.
  • Before, during, and after each review, hold supportive conversations with districts to encourage continuous improvement of equity-sustaining practices.
  • Refocus the CR 24.25 Toolkit using REDT; centering the work on data and outcomes.
  • Externalize conversations around data and microaggressions.

Strong understanding of the connection between effective programming and positive student outcomes

  • MTSS & DCAP — Strong understanding of MTSS and DCAP in order to support schools and districts around purpose and implementation.
  • Dyslexia guidelines — Strong understanding of the dyslexia guidelines in order to support schools and districts around implementation.
  • Assess the impact of TFM monitoring on outcomes for students and adapt monitoring practices to support the development of inclusive and equitable systems.
